OneHealth Port

The Forum initially formed a panel of information technology and business executives from plans, provider associations, hospitals, and medical groups to implement electronic solutions for securely exchanging information. Our goal was to reduce unnecessary costs, improve cash flow, and increase overall efficiency.

Key accomplishments in this area include the following:

• We implemented a standardized electronic vehicle for providers to obtain eligibility information,
• We reached agreement on common specifications for implementing HIPAA transactions; additional HIPAA transactions are being added and updated,
• We formed a new company, OneHealthPort, to provide a standardized, electronic credential that trading partners in the community can accept for on-line transactions,
• We contracted with a technology partner to provide electronic credential and systems capability.
